Welcome to all things SPEEDX…
SpeedX was a Chinese bike brand that had a short, but very eventful life… and it was a very short life…!
The Brand had a life span of less than 5 years… being formed in 2014 and filing for bankruptcy in 2018 to the tune of $105m (£82m).
A group of young entrepreneurs got together and designed their first product, a fully integrated cycling computer called SPEEDFORCE. (Details HERE ).
By 2016 the company were building their most successful product – A ‘Smart Aero Bike’ with fully integrated cables and a built in computer, called the Leopard (Details HERE).
Finally, 2 more bikes put in an appearance, the Unicorn and the Falcon (Details HERE and HERE). It was unfortunate that only prototypes were ever built.
The Team encountered problems from Day One. Whether the problems were of their own making, or the geopolitical situation they encountered, will be debated for a long time. The Management Team have been called many things, from visionary’s to crooks and cheats.
